Villa Agostini is located in the southern hills overlooking the Renaissance town of Florence Italy and the city’s iconic duomo. In late 2012, the client engaged us to assist with the Master Planning and realization of a new olive grove while also incorporating a new arrival experience for the Villa. Utilizing historical maps and modern aerial photography, we prepared a series of analytical overlays to better understand the importance of existing landscape conditions in order to establish a geometry for the new olive grove that would also reinforce the client’s desire to create a strong sense of “arrival” for residents and their guests into the property.
