Located in England’s South Hams region, the farm occupies about 9 hectares near Landscove, South Devon, just down the road from the famous Riverford organic farms. The farm is divided into several distinct pastures and zones by the iconic hedgerows of the region and includes a Grade II listed farmhouse built around 1840, traditional barns, agricultural buildings and productive land. A spectacular central courtyard is at the heart of the estate
We have been working with our Clients since 2012 developing an overall master plan for the property that included the transformation of the existing farmhouse into a bed and breakfast with supporting outdoor amenities, new residential accommodations in the original stone barns, establishment of a farm shop that will sell local goods produced on property, as well as the establishment of a refurbished working farm to include livestock and organic veggie production.
“Understanding we found a jewel in the rough at Tidwell, we understood the importance of finding a talented group to help us organize the overall Master Plan and Vision for the farm and brainstorm ideas of how we could add value to the property while keeping the improvements rooted in the rural lifestyle. Having worked with Philip and his Team previously, we knew they would be the right fit. They are creative, very easy to work with, able to hand-draw ideas quickly together on site, and deliver some of the best product we’ve seen both in terms of design documentation as well as the final built product. We are looking forward to continue working with M À K I A on our future projects”
