Tucked away in the aromatic landscape of the Pineta di Roccamare, ‘Villa la Barca’ provides our client and their guests with an intimate escape on the Mediterranean coast. The garden interventions focused on improving the understory plantings, unifying the indoor and outdoor spaces by minimizing materials, utilizing a neutral colour palette, and improving the stormwater infrastructure where 100% of all storm water is now captured on site and allowed to infiltrate back into the aquifer.  We worked closely with our client, the architects, and local craftsmen to ensure a common thread links the indoor and outdoor spaces. Natural hardwood decks, Italian grey volcanic stone, and grey mosaic pool tiles were utilized throughout the landscape to maintain a minimal, cooling feel while focusing attention on the countless shades of green that dominate this escape.
